From concept to characterized chip — expert microfluidics services delivered through a trusted network of specialized partners, coordinated by a single technical team.
Microfluidic technology is transforming diagnostics, drug discovery, and cell biology — but access to the right fabrication expertise remains one of the biggest barriers in the field. ELEXAN Scientific exists to remove that barrier.
Our microfluidics services connect you with a carefully vetted network of specialized fabrication partners, technical experts, and material suppliers — coordinated through a single point of contact so you can focus on your science rather than managing multiple vendors.
Whether you need a droplet generator designed from scratch, a PDMS prototype fabricated and bonded, a silicon master mold etched by DRIE, or a picoliter protein array printed on a custom surface, ELEXAN Scientific has the expertise and the partnerships to deliver.
Every engagement begins with a no-obligation technical consultation. We listen to your requirements, review existing designs or constraints, and provide an honest assessment of the best fabrication approach, timeline, and budget for your project.
We design your chip or review your existing design for manufacturability, then match your project to the optimal fabrication partner from our network — selected by process capability, lead time, and experience with similar applications.
Finished chips are characterized using profilometry, SEM, contact angle measurement, electrical testing, or functional flow testing before delivery. Process documentation and characterization reports are provided as standard.
Each supported by a dedicated team of technical specialists and a network of trusted fabrication partners.
DRIE, e-beam deposition, and 2-photon lithography are accessible through ELEXAN without cleanroom affiliation, capital investment, or equipment maintenance — through a single relationship with no minimum commitment.
Our team holds advanced degrees in chemical engineering, materials science, and microfluidics. When we recommend a fabrication approach, it is based on direct hands-on experience, not a catalog description.
Every fabrication partner in the ELEXAN network has been personally vetted by our technical team. We work with partners who share our commitment to scientific rigor, clear communication, and on-time delivery.
From a single prototype chip for proof-of-concept to a validated batch for a pre-clinical study — our service model scales to your project stage without requiring production commitments or long-term contracts.
We work with academic research groups, biotech startups, established medical device companies, pharmaceutical R&D teams, and industrial engineering groups. Engagements range from single-chip prototyping projects for PhD researchers to multi-phase development programs for commercial product teams.
Both. Some services — including design, certain prototyping methods, and microarray printing — are performed directly by our team. For specialized processes such as DRIE, e-beam deposition, and 2-photon lithography, we work with a carefully selected network of partner facilities. In all cases, ELEXAN Scientific coordinates the project and takes responsibility for the deliverable.
Absolutely — we regularly fabricate chips from customer-provided designs. We will review your design files for manufacturability in the chosen process and flag any potential issues before fabrication begins. If modifications are needed, we will discuss them with you before proceeding.
Our prototyping services cover PDMS, COC, PMMA, PC, Flexdym, PSA laminates, glass, silicon, and aluminum. Microfabrication services work primarily with silicon and glass wafers. For specialized or biocompatible materials not listed, contact us to discuss your requirements.
Simple PDMS prototypes from existing molds can be delivered in 3–5 business days. New mold fabrication by soft lithography typically takes 1–2 weeks. Complex multi-layer microfabrication projects requiring cleanroom processing can take 4–8 weeks depending on partner capacity. We provide a project timeline estimate at the feasibility stage and keep you updated throughout.
Yes. We sign mutual non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) at the start of any technical engagement upon request. Your design files, project scope, and technical details are treated as confidential and are not shared beyond the team members and partners directly involved in your project.
Whether you have a fully detailed chip design ready for fabrication or a scientific challenge you are not yet sure how to approach — start with a no-obligation technical consultation.
