VELOMIR: Add-on Microrheology Software (Optional)
VELOMIR is a powerful and user-friendly particle tracking platform, offering state-of-the-art precision and cutting-edge speed. VELOMIR is ideal for microrheology experiments using passive microrheology, the sensor's tracks are evaluated offline to compute the time-dependent mean squared displacement (MSD) and the frequency dependent viscoelastic properties of the surrounding material. By measuring frequencies up to 10 kHz, the sensor can resolve the biologically important band of polymer crossover frequencies, ranging from 100 Hz and above. This capability provides new insights and reveals changes in the stiffness of cells and tissues when exposed to external factors such as drugs, stress, and nutrients. Using long time traces, the sensor can observe changes that would otherwise be inaccessible, making it possible to resolve and track active transport within cells.
- Fully and easy to use graphical user-interface
- Adjustment: Exposure time, flashing length for pulsed illumination, sensor gain and smoothing prefiltering
- Toolbox: Click and point, scroll to resize particle tracking capture
- Tracking Precision: 0.01 px (simulation results)
- Tracking Speed: Up to 50 % of the particle radius per frame
- Tracking Size: From 3 px up to 30 px diameter
- Max. Tracking Duration: Only limited by storage medium size
- Max. Speed Tracking Data Rate:
- Text mode:ca. 4.8 MB/s (relevant dataset), ca. 12 MB/s (full parameter set)
- Binary mode: 2 MB/s (relevant dataset), 5 MB/s (full parameter set)
- Tracking: Continuous tracking and record up to 8 particles up to 10 kHz with a 15 parameter fitting procedure, achieving sub-pixel precision
- Data Output:
- Text mode (CSV containing position, size, elongation, orientation, skewness, optional full 15, parameter fitting set, timestamp, frame number)
- Binary mode (Same parameters as in CSV in IEEE floats)
- Saving of data to local storage (256 GB, usable amount is less), USB (NTFS, FAT32 (max. 4 GB), ext3/4, exFAT) or network storage (NFS, SMB). Other protocols on request.
- User manual: Digital
