Description

Our Degasser is the smallest and most affordable on the market, useful for removing dissolved gasses and can be equipped with up to six degasser cartridges made from Teflon AF tubing (PTFE) or teflon membranes. 

Also offered as a kit without the housing for your own OEM instrument integration. Different cartridge volumes available.

Dissolved gasses in mobile phases cause baseline drift, false optical peaks, and pump cavitation (air lock) in liquid chromatography. As liquid flows through the highly permeable Teflon tubing housed inside a vacuum chamber, the controlled pressure differential extracts dissolved gases across the membrane wall without altering solvent composition. 

Equipped with high-permeability fluoropolymer tubing membranes (Teflon AF™) and a continuous-vacuum micro-pump, this unit ensures smooth flow rates, stable detector baselines, and reproducible retention times across HPLC, UHPLC, GPC, and LC-MS applications.

Why is inline vacuum degassing better than helium sparging or ultrasonic baths?

Ultrasonic degassing and helium sparging are manual, batch processes. Solvents quickly re-absorb atmospheric gases once resting on the bench. An inline vacuum degasser continuously removes gases in real time, ensuring consistent dissolved gas concentration throughout long analytical runs.

How often do the degassing membranes need replacement?

Under standard laboratory conditions with clean, filtered solvents, the degassing channels operate for over 5,000 continuous hours without degradation. Annual inspection of vacuum pump seals and filter frits is recommended for optimal longevity.
